For a brief overview, you can check out Ms. McKee's site. Do not bother to try her links, just read through and look at the images.

Next you will be playing an on-line game about life in the trenches from active history.

After completing the game, it is your turn to play historian. Find the website First World War, then you will examine military history, by looking at the weapons of the war. Choose two types. What do these weapons tell you about how the war would be fought, won and lost? As for cultural history, you have had poems assigned in class, so look at other sources for clues as to the cultural history around the war. Choose the type of primary document you want to view: posters, letters, or songs.

Complete the worksheet associated with this site.

What did the world expect from this war?
